If you rotate the complete 'rear outlet’ petcock 90 degrees, you can make the outlet point to the left or right and are still able to control the fuel valve handle. With a regular petcock, when traveling at high speed, even with a stock engine, it can happen that your bike uses more fuel than a regular petcock can deliver. The engine sucks the float bowl dry, literally starving the engine. With High Performance Big Inch motors the problem increases.
