The S-Works Prevail 3 is Specialized’s ventilated road helmet, the one to reach for in heat and on long climbs. Removing the foam bridges through the centre created open air channels that Specialized says increase ventilation surface area by 24.5% over the S-Works Prevail II Vent. Claimed weight is 250 g in a small and 260 g in a medium, making it the lighter of the two S-Works road helmets.
- Open thru-air channels: 24.5% more ventilation surface area than the S-Works Prevail II Vent, per Specialized
- Mips Air Node integrated into the stripped-back padding, leaving the vents unobstructed
- Claimed 250 g in size S and 260 g in size M
- Reviewers rate it among the best-ventilated road helmets available
- Suits a flatter crown and narrower temples, so worth trying on for fit
